Side Scan survey along the WINDFLOAT Atlantic project submarine cable (fieldwork report)

Abstract

Between June 3 and 7, a side scan sonar survey was carried out along the WINDFLOAT electric cable route, offshore Viana do Castelo, to get a high-resolution mapping of the seabed. This survey is one of the tasks included in the periodic inspection and geological survey plan of the WINDFLOAT Atlantic project cable, by HENGTONG OPTIC-ELETRIC CO., LTD., besides a multi-beam survey and visual inspection by ROV or divers, of possibly exposed sections of the cable.
